THEWALL BIRD Mobile Office Series for Orea AG is an innovative, agile room-partitioning system integrating advanced acoustic performance with flexible, modular interior architecture. Developed during my tenure at Hans Winkler Design, my role involved the complex technical execution and co-conceptualizing structural hardware components to successfully transition this sustainable, multi-material workplace ecosystem into production-intent data.

On the team at Hans Winkler Design, I served as the Lead 3D Designer and Technical Developer for THE WALL BIRD Mobile Office Series. I functioned as the essential "technical-aesthetic bridge," taking raw architectural concepts for this acoustic, agile room-partitioning system and translating them into high-fidelity, production-intent CAD data. My role demanded rigorous multi-material problem-solving to cleanly integrate sustainable fabrics, acoustic cores, and internal structural frames. Most notably, I co-conceptualized and engineered the critical "Bird Foot" structural hardware component alongside Hans Winkler, taking full ownership of its geometric refinement and mechanical stability in Rhino.
Transforming this highly modular workspace ecosystem into reality required deep, cross-disciplinary alignment. Working closely under the creative direction of Hans Winkler, I led the technical development of the connection interfaces between the mobile partition panels and their load-bearing hardware. On behalf of our client, Orea, I maintained a rigorous collaborative loop with specialized external technical workshops and third-party manufacturing partners to validate structural tolerances, optimize acoustic performance, and ensure the mobile system complied with commercial stability standards. This tight orchestration between design intent and external production facilities ensured the final product beautifully preserved its minimalist visual language while handling real-world physical stresses.
The project resulted in a highly innovative, production-proven architectural system that successfully launched into the premium corporate workspace market. THE WALL BIRD successfully bridged the gap between high-performance acoustic engineering and flexible room-partitioning, establishing a new standard for agile office environments. The system was fully commercialized and distributed by Orea, and it is actively deployed in high-end corporate interiors internationally. The co-developed "Bird Foot" hardware stands as a signature structural anchor of the collection, proving that bold aesthetic minimalism can seamlessly coexist with uncompromising mechanical utility.
